Breast Enlargement After Liposuction

As recently as 1990, doctors have begun to notice the association between liposuction, especially of the abdomen, and subsequent enlargement of the breasts. This could just be due to the perception of a different proportion after the abdomen is made smaller rather than an actual enlargement. In a recent study (April, 2007) investigators from the Netherlands confirmed that liposuction of the abdomen and hips is associated with an actual (true) increased in breast size in 40 percent of patients. The mechanism may be that fat tissue in the abdomen, once liposuctioned, releases certain hormones that have a higher relative influence on breast enlargement.
