Temporal Tuck
THE TYPICAL PATIENT
- Anyone with heaviness of the upper outer eyelids, crows feet, and
sagging to the outer eyebrows.
- This can be done to correct some unevenness from one side to the other.
- Temporal tuck test: Look straight ahead in the mirror and pull up and
back gently on the forehead above the eyebrows. If you see a change in the
eyebrows and the upper eyelids that you like, then you are an excellent
candidate for the surgery.
- It is much less extensive than a formal browlift and may provide the
same or nearly same results, depending on your anatomy and expectations.
THE PROCEDURE
- A small incision is placed about one inch behind the hairline and
follows the curvature of your hairline for several inches. A space is made
through the incision down to the eyebrow to release the ligaments and allow
for elevation.
- Excess scalp is removed and the incision is closed. There is no hair
shaved.
- Anesthesia is a local, or sedation (twilight) or general.
- The operation takes about 45 minutes for both sides.
- You see your results immediately.
- No dressings, drains, or garments are needed.
- This can be combined with other plastic surgical procedures.
THE RECOVERY
- You can go back to work or your usual activities within several days.
You can shower and wash in two days.
- There is minimal to no pain.
- Swelling is mild to moderate and peaks at two days then disappears
rapidly.
- Minimal or no bruising is the usual.
- Makeup can be applied within two days.
- There is no numbness.
THE RESULT
- Beautiful, balanced and proportioned elevation of the outer eyebrows and
bright youthful look to the eyes.
- No visible incisions.
- A natural result that does not look artificial or unusual or surprised.
- A long lasting result that always looks better than if you did not do
it.
