Lip Surgery & RejuvenationJust like the eyes are the seat to the soul, so are our lips. But, they are also the locus of our identity, the central focus to the face, and the seat of our personality and expression. So I profoundly respect any patient that has even the smallest issue with this, such an important facial feature. I see many men for lip rejuvenation and understand your unique needs and requests. I listen carefully and help you.
There are many features in the lip that must appear and function in a well coordinated fashion in a small and very visible area. Men may notice small lips, not enough pink showing, loss of the ledge or definition to the edges, an elongated thin upper lip, lip unevenness, not enough or too much teeth showing when smiling, drooping corners and a sad look, wrinkle lines, smoker’s lines, or too large upper and/or lower lips. The lip anatomy consists of a bulky main muscle, 8 muscles that connect at each corner, almost no fat, and then the overlying skin. The underlying teeth, dental work and upper jaw give foundation and shape to the lips, and this is part of my evaluation. The lips relate to your laugh lines, nasal base, and jowls to varying degrees, so that there are many different anatomic features here that must be analyzed and addressed prior to your surgery. I will coordinate the features of your anatomy with your expectations, formulate a plan with you, and guide you through this. In lip rejuvenation surgery there are multitudes of different, yet very specific techniques that must be applied exactly to your precise anatomic feature(s) and to what you see. The skill comes in evaluating these features and matching them to the best intervention. These interventions may be in one or more categories of skin care, injectables, peels, resurfacing, or surgery. Surgery, when indicated, involves a light general anesthetic, performed where I do surgery, which is in a hospital setting. The surgery is safe and predictable. There is a mild to moderate degree of swelling after surgery. All the stitches are small and removed in 4-7 days with return to work in as little as 5-7 days, and to some physical exercise in the first week. The spectrum of interventions I provide for lip rejuvenation in my practice are:
So here, you understand the great deal of art that goes into lip
rejuvenation. I have expertise in lip rejuvenation and have performed hundreds
of these operations with very natural results that do not make you look
different or like a different person, but rather, youthful and alluring and
refreshed. I spend a great deal of time discussing your anatomy, listening to
your expectations, and interpreting for you what you anatomy and tissues will
allow me to do in a safe and predictable way. In addition, I consider your body
as a whole and I build a system into every facial surgery that, initially,
allows you to recover much quicker and, secondly, it serves to preserve your
surgical results. This system includes a special diet, special attention to
blood clotting, vitamins, supplements, special garments, skin products, physical
training and knowing what to avoid. Together, all of this allows me to create
results that are consistently very beautiful, quick to heal, exceptionally
natural, and with minimal incisions, especially in the face; an area of such
major importance. I am delighted to surgically provide you with such profound
yet natural lip changes, and ones that have consistently so pleased my male
patients and changed their lives. For before and after images of this procedure click here
