Lip Rejuvenation
FOCUSING ON
- Vertical wrinkle lines of the upper and lower lips.
- Flat, sagging, wrinkled appearance of the lips and loss of fullness.
- Loss of appearance of the pink portion of the lips.
- Loss of the natural roll or pucker between the skin and pink portion of
the lip referred to as the vermilion border or Cupid’s bow.
- Constant comments about having a sad or depressed look, especially
around the mouth.
- A long upper lip is treated by a lip lift procedure and a small lip is
treated by lip enlargement.
- Desire for a softened, delicate, happy mouth and lip appearance.
THE PROCEDURE
- Anesthesia is usually local but can be can be general and the procedure
takes 15-30 minutes.
- The approach to wrinkle treatment here is usually three pro
- ged. Wrinkles can be reduced by smoothing the skin from laser,
dermabrasion, or peels. This may be treated alone.
- The second arm of treatment is usually the most preferred by most
patients. This consists of injection therapy and using some product to fill
the wrinkles. For this purpose, I use your own fat, collagen and new
products called Perlane, Restylene, and a permanent filler called Artecoll.
- The third arm of treatment is done with either a central lip lift,
corner lip lift or both.
- These products can also be used along with other lip enlargement
procedures to increase the size of the lips.
- Any of these can be done very conservatively and in stages to give a
soft but natural result.
- This can be combined with other plastic surgical procedures.
THE RECOVERY
- You can go home right away.
- You can shower and use make up on the day of surgery.
- No pain.
- Rare bruising.
- Swelling is very mild and peaks at one day then disappears.
- No time off work.
THE RESULT
- Very natural result with a happy and softened appearance to the lip that
is very natural.
- A softened and beautiful balance to compliment your other facial
features, surgeries and proportions.
- The longevity depends on your anatomy and the procedure but this can be
permanent.
