I graduated from The College of William and Mary and the Medical College of Hampton Roads, Virginia. I completed training in General Surgery at Bellevue Hospital in New York City and Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. I completed my residency in Plastic Surgery at The Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. My skills and confidence in providing high quality cosmetic surgery are due to this history. This is because I had an extraordinary background and experience in all sort of general surgery and reconstructive plastic surgery developed and further cultured in each of these above and brilliant institutions. All these many skills I learned and utilized in general surgery and reconstructive plastic surgery just make one a better cosmetic surgeon.

I am double board certified by both the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Plastic Surgery. Not all plastic surgeons enjoy this distinction of double board certification so I invite you to read more about board certification and how to choose a plastic surgeon.

I have the privilege of being in practice and treasuring what I do now since 1988. I have had the privilege to serve on the full-time teaching faculty as an Assistant Professor of Plastic Surgery at the University of Southern California, and as an Assistant Chief of Service at The Johns Hopkins Hospital.

I am on staff at the several San Francisco Hospitals including Seton Medical Center and the California-Pacific Medical Center. I am a member of the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons, The American Society of Plastic Surgeons, The American Society of Maxillofacial Surgeons, the San Francisco Medical Society, and the California Medical Association.

I volunteer regularly to provide plastic surgery services to the uninsured in the city of San Francisco at the San Francisco Free Clinic. I also volunteer regularly for medical volunteer missions to underprivileged countries like Guatemala at the Hospital de la Familia. I lecture regularly to my peers and professional organizations and write for numerous publications on surgical techniques and patient care.
